Cost of admission: 400 yen The inokashira zoo is quite an old zoo and can be seen in its entirety in about 90 minutes. The panels are only in Japanese so English speakers might have a hard time. there are no big game animals like apes, lions, tigers, gorillas, elephants or some of the zoo favorites so if you are looking for things like that you’ll be disappointed. However if you like birds they have plenty! I’d say about 70% of the exhibit has birds. And the rest are cats. The highlight was the guinea pig petting zoo. Make sure to do that while you can.

This place is great. Nice view too from the window tables! Try the unagi pizza, you won't be disappointed.

The inolashira park zoo is one of the most charming zoos I have been to. We went at opening in the spring on the weekday. It was basically empty and that may have added a lot. It was tranquil and all the staff was so nice. With our passports we got in for less then 400 yen.

Plus side - Enclosures for prey species (koalas, Birds, hoof stock) we're very nice with grass flooring and adequate space. Negative - Enclosures for predators (wolves, big cats, apes) were concrete and small.

Small and simple. If you’re in need of an activity to keep your children entertained for an hour or two, it’s for you.
